Dallas PPC Management

If you want a Dallas PPC (pay per click advertising) Firm that provides transparent reporting and flat fee management pricing with no click markups, then give SMBSEO a call.

My name is Mike Stewart, and I am a local search engine market who specializes in pay per click and local search engine optimization. My agency helps advertisers improve their results. The truth is, making money online is not a problem for most experienced web marketers. What is a problem for them is pay per click. On the other hand, those that have mastered pay per click advertising have trouble with content strategy. Content strategists have trouble with social media, so on and so on. Internet marketing has many niches, my agency has specialists for all different types of internet marketing niches. I personally consider myself a “Jack of All Trades” and master of a few.

Just a few of my recent Pay Per Click training sessions:

  • Google AdWords Seminars for Success 301/302
  • PubCon Masters Course Pay Per Click Track
  • Online Marketing Summit PPC Sessions
  • DFWSEM.org PPC meet-up discussions
  • Google AdWords Certification Exams
  • Manage SMBSEO client budgets that total more than $60K per month ad spend

I am going to be honest-pay per click is hard. This is particularly true when it comes to Google Adwords and small business owners who attempt to manage campaigns themselves. The reason is, unlike the other search engines, Adwords uses a sophisticated scoring device known as “quality score”. This is how Google ranks every advertiser on every keyword, and the advertiser with the highest score will rank the best.

In other words, the days of ranking at the top of the search engines by just bidding the highest amount are over. This is because Google takes quality into consideration as well. This makes sense when you think about it from Google’s perspective.

After all, they want to provide the best results for their searchers. Otherwise, they will leave and go to a search engine that provides more relevant results. Therefore, it is in their best interest to provide the advertisers that are most relevant to that keyword… even if that advertiser is not bidding the highest amount.

Many marketers groan when they hear the term quality score, because they think that it is some incredibly complicated formula that nobody can figure out. While it might seem daunting at first, their score is actually a blessing in disguise. The reason is, it allows you to compete with big money marketers, who you would not be able to otherwise.

After all, if the only thing Google took into consideration was bid price, than the larger, wealthier companies would always appear at the top of the rankings for every keywords. However, now a whole bunch of factors are taken into account. This could potentially allow you to outrank someone who is bidding twice as much as you (you read that correctly).

Do you think some of the Google Adwords Resellers who mark up clicks can properly build campaigns beyond “Product/Service & Geography” terms? No! The reason being is they typically use proxy pages or mirrored sites, provide tracking numbers that you never own that often get indexed by search engines, and use automated bid management systems that spend your money where the companies generate the highest profit. I often recommend to clients that if you are not paying Google directly for clicks, you are likely paying a marked-up fee for those clicks. Google PPC is basically the World’s Largest Silent Auction, you need someone bidding on your behalf who wants you to pay the lowest fee possible.

PPC advertising scams have become a serious problem for small businesses.

Are you interested yet? Here is how to rank for someone that is literally bidding twice as much as you (or more)-be more relevant with targeted campaign structures. You will hear me say this word again and again, so get used to it.

As mentioned, Google is all about relevancy. The way to make yourself more relevant is to include the target keyword in your ad title, as well as the body of the ad (if possible). If the term is too long, then simply include as much of it as possible.

The reason is, Google ranks your quality score of each keyword separately. The problem most marketers have is that they have 100s of keywords within each ad group. Not only does this make tracking them impossible, but it also lowers their quality score.

This is because there is no way to include all those keywords in their titles and ad body. There is only so much space, after all. Therefore, their quality score drops, and they have to bid extremely high prices just to show up.

Instead, having a separate ad group for each and every keyword will allow you to include those terms in the ad.

Not only does Google view this as being more relevant, but it will increase your click through rate (and in turn your quality score). The reason is, Google automatically bolds the keywords in your ad that are the same as the keywords the searcher just typed in. Therefore, your ad will stand out more than an ad that has none of the keywords listed.

The bottom line-if your remember nothing else, remember that increasing your relevancy for each keyword is imperative to Adwords success. If you want a Dallas PPC (pay per click advertising) Firm that provides transparent reporting and flat fee pricing, then give us a call. Again, my name is Mike Stewart, and I would love to talk with you and help you improve your quality scores on Google as well as build your Bing/Yahoo AdCenter Campaigns and Facebook Ads.

Having A Website Isn’t Just Window Dressing Anymore, Findability is the Key!

Findability is the ability of brands and their associated content to be discovered by people.

An estimated 360 million people around the world are internet users and fading way from the days of advertising in newspapers, magazines and other print media.  Text ads, pay per click advertising, article and keyword marketing and other online advertising tactics swirl around what some are saying is the death of the print industry all together.  Businesses today lose market share, sales, and other opportunities if they are not developing a strong web presence.  Advertising your business online does not just mean convenience for consumers anymore.  It opens up a world of highly detailed and accurate market data that companies only dreamed of before the days of the internet.

A societal shift

All the way up to two decades ago, consumers shopping for services either picked up a phone book, looked in the classifieds, or used word of mouth to do things like find jobs, find products or services and get information.  The only other alternative was to drive to businesses to acquire these things.  Today, many people take to the web because they think the information contained there is just as good as a referral from a friend or family member.  It is so easy if a person has a computer to check and see if they can find information, products or services that they need online before spending resources on leaving their home.  Capabilities of major search engines have also become very advanced to deliver the most relevant search results to users based on the area they are in, any stored preferences if they are searching from a personal machine and thousands of results are delivered in less than a second.  The migration toward getting information from the web is even more prevalent among younger generations who may get most of their news from the web or mobile devices and no longer have a need for phone books or other print media.  In this economic climate it is more important than ever for businesses to develop a strong and reliable web presence no matter what industry they are in.

Why online marketing is better than any other option

In the beginning all that was available to companies was print advertising.  Radio came along and that was an even hotter venue.  Television has remained king since its mass production and continues to be one the most dominant forms of media message delivery.  When companies decide to devote advertising dollars to a campaign on television or even print and radio, they have some tools at their disposal to track if their efforts have been successful.  Neilson ratings help them decide which shows in their target demographic will be the best to buy ad time in and radio stations keep track of the volume of listeners that they can reach.  On its face this should be good enough to know if a business’s dollars are being spent effectively.

The internet however has proven that companies can get data that is hundreds of times more accurate in order to get their message through to consumers.  For instance Google Adwords campaigns allow businesses to generate keywords that their potential customers may type into a search engine to find products or services.  Ad text can then be developed to appear alongside search results that are highly relevant to a users search query.  An ad can also be designed to take users directly to a web or landing page that is also highly relevant to the search query.  Various tactics in SEO or search engine optimization applied to a landing page can make a users experience easy and fast.  Google analytics, a data collection tool, has the potential to track any type of behavior once a user arrives at a website from the buttons they clicked on to the products they are looking at.

The great part is that there are already well established companies that specialize in SEO and web marketing services.  For instance, Mike Stewart, a Dallas Online Marketing Expert, is director of SMBSEO; a company that provides online marketing and search engine optimization services to companies in North Texas.  When a client signs up with SMBSEO, they get a variety of services that enable them to create a more user friendly web experience for end users as well as web marketing services that are focused and effective.  Clients can expect their sites to be reviewed for optimization or, in other words, a breakdown of how effective a site is at being easy to use, functional, and easy to find by search engines.  Next, SMBSEO develops a step by step strategy on how to improve the site or its advertising to drive more traffic to it.  This can include tasks such as adding title or meta description tags that are relevant to user’s search query, writing of specially designed content, marketing tactics such as off-site articles highlighting products or services and loads of support for SEO and marketing questions.  SMBSEO offers these cutting edge and effective services at fair prices and they operate under a results driven model of business.

Dallas SEO Web Design is crucial for internet marketing success

Having a website use to be about sharing additional information, prior to the shift from traditional media to digital media. Websites used to cost tens of thousands of dollars and SEO was all about on-page optimization of content with meta-tags and keyword stuffing. Today, in order to succeed online, businesses must incorporate SEO Web Design. Dallas SEO Web Design firm SMBSEO provides small businesses with website design that includes not only technical SEO, such as page titles and descriptions, but also provides web design with content strategy and optimization. Each type of content, whether video, image, or text, will be search engine optimized so that search engines can understand the purpose, meaning, or intent of the content and properly credit it towards one of the SMBSEO clients keyword objectives. This SEO Web Design strategy is something that previous website designers and developers neglected, not because of skill, but because of ignorance. Traditionally website design was performed not by experienced search engine marketers or engineers, but by internet technology professionals and graphic design artists. IT Professionals and graphic design artists are not experienced with technical SEO, much less marketing methods such as content strategy and content distribution.

If your small business or corporation needs help with website redesign, search engine optimization, or content strategy give Mike Stewart and his team at SMBSEO a call today, you will be glad you did!

Dallas Pay Per Click PPC Advertising Management & Consultants

For anyone who is dealing with internet advertising on Google AdWords, it is highly unlikely that they are not aware of the importance of quality scores and low cost per click/bid for thier business. However an understanding of the meticulous nature of how Google ranks ads against eachother is something that most internet marketers do not have. Playing by the rules of Google is definitely a sensible approach. As a matter of fact, this can actually enable the internet marketer to pay less than the competitors as well as rank higher on the search engines along with getting more clicks for a relatively trivial payment compared to competitors. What we are saying is, “Google rewards those that do things the right way.”

SMBSEO has internet marketing specialists who actually deal with this aspect of Google. These specialists are Google AdWords Certified Professionals who have been hands on experience and have been trained by Google AdWords Seminars for Success, PubCon PPC Training, and various other online marketing courses. They help their clients in a number of different ways:

  • Making targeted adgroups for the client’s keywords
  • Making adgroups that are targeted to the clients specific geographic markets
  • Increasing the relevance of the landing page, which means the landing page contains keywords in meta settings as well as in title etc.

Serving the Dallas area can be a plus for a small business given the presence of our local Dallas Internet Marketing Boutique (also known as SMBSEO), the valuable services of which are available to the small and medium-sized businesses in the region, especially when it comes to Dallas Pay Per Click Advertising management. Also article marketing is offered to our clients along with free web ranking reports that give the client about the areas of strengths and weaknesses. SMB SEO believes in holistic search marketing efforts, incorporating FREE clicks from local and organic results in combination with paid search marketing clicks or ppc.

Also a tracking system is there for knowing the statistics through Google Analytics. With the help of these stats, business owners will be able to track down each and every visitor along with the referral domain that guided them to the website and also the keywords that became the initial source of their visit.

The targeted directional marketing process focuses on drawing traffic from a number of different sources. It is especially effective in bringing potential customers that have a high level of interest in the client’s products and/ or services. Cashing in on this interest, they are compelled and persuaded to visit the website.

In addition to that, Google AdWords Certified team members help in the management of pay per click campaigns. These experts are experienced in running Google and Yahoo/MSN AdCenter interfaces. SMBSEO strives for transparency and does not indulge in unethical practices.  We also help our clients in a diverse array of Internet marketing services. State of the art expertise is offered to clients at a flat monthly charge and no hidden costs. Nevertheless, quality work requires added effort and lengthier time spans so the same applies to this enterprise also, which is further evidence of the veracity of the claims made. Basically the Dallas Pay Per Click Advertising Management services offered by SMBSEO are not a piece of cake; instead it is an integrated campaign where both the parties work together to achieve the desired results, which is not an overnight process and takes time before one actually starts witnessing the generation of results.

Google AdWords Advice for Dallas Small Businesses

As industry moves from one model to another in the marketing world, the way that businesses get their messages out to consumers is rapidly changing.  Print advertising is fading away as major publications such as the New York Times and the Detroit Free Press see their revenues from ad dollars shrink.  Companies like Google are seeing a surge in online marketing activity mainly through its proprietary program Google Adwords.  Many businesses still do not see the value in this type of marketing online and there are still misnomers about pay per click advertising in general.

Pay Per Click advertising myths

When a company hears that they will have to pay every time a person clicks on an ad that they have posted online, they may only see cost and turn to run.  In reality, it can be incredibly challenging to get someone to click on your ad and costs for online marketing in this way are drastically lower than traditional forms of media in comparison to how effectively a market can be reached and the data Google produces from its campaigns.  It is also common for companies to think that individuals don’t want to click on ads and would rather be a unique visitor to a page or click on organic search results.  In fact just as many people click on three line text ads that appear next to organic search results as those who click on organic results alone.  Still more entities believe that the more they pay, the more exposure they will get online yet in the case of Adwords, this could not be further from the truth.  Google works to balance its own needs with the needs of advertisers as well as those of consumers using their service.  The company willing to bid the most for an ad to appear may not necessarily be the most relevant for the user’s search query.  The position that an ad has on a results page is decided based on a variety of factors one of which is how much an advertiser is willing to pay however this is not the most important factor.

Google uses “Keyword Quality Score” as a means of determining which ads appear higher or lower, this also includes the bid per click as a factor.

Businesses do not have to be end users

While Google provides a very unique and effective opportunity with its advertising services, the Adwords system is very complex and detailed.  A person could spend forty hours a week working with it and learning about it and still not completely understand it.  This is where Mike Stewart, director of Dallas (PPC) Pay-Per-Click Campaign Set-up & Management Firm SMBSEO comes in.  His company specializes in online marketing and Google Adwords consulting.  The business offers advice on how to optimize campaign ad text and keywords, improve quality scores and average position on page, as well as a variety of other aspects of Adwords accounts.  Tutorials offered by the company can take users through the Adwords interface step by step to increase keyword click through rates and other important factors that maximize ad dollars. SMBSEO’s pay per click management services are not only transparent in reporting and results, the company is also one of the few firms in Dallas to provided paid search management campaign building on behalf of the client without retaining ownership of the work provided. This is a distinct advantage of working with holistic search marketers who view search engine marketing as a service and not a product.

As the advertising world changes, more and more companies are moving to the web to showcase products and services.  Benefits of online marketing include far better tracking of user preferences and behavior, lower cost, and greater exposure to target markets.  Companies like SMBSEO provide cutting edge online marketing consulting advice for businesses that want to use newer services such as Google Adwords but don’t have the time or knowledge to get things rolling.

Google Traffic Trends for PPC (AdWords) resellers who markup clicks on Google.

Ever wondered how popular one big PPC Adwords Reseller is vs another?

How Popular are other PPC Advertising Companies?

Google Trends is an excellent free tool to find out how many people search for a particular word, phrase, or brand vs another. It can also be used for quick keyword research. A great example is Attorneys vs Lawyers in subregions.

I was curious how the SuperMedia name change from Idearc (after the companies questionable bankruptcy) was impacting the brands popularity vs others like up and coming MLM-styled AdzZoo (who took a big hit from reducing 40% commissions to 20% last I heard) and ReachLocal, a company that is finally getting better at servicing clients and has the sales involvement (from a reporting perspective) and support structure to connect the client and management. SuperMedia has a disconnect by not giving sales reps the training or tools to medigate potential issues or offer optimization such as Website Conversion Optimization or tools such as Google Analytics.

Rumor is that Google wants to end the Google Authorized AdWords Reseller Program due to churn, click markups that are overpriced and prohibit a ROI for advertisers. While the program website is still live, many rumors have been swirling that Google wants to end the program and focus on the Google AdWords Certification and provider program. Maybe Google is shifting away from “working with H&R Block” type companeis and back to “independant tax preparers” or from yellow page providers and big national agencies to local service providers and mid-sized internet advertising and paid search (PPC) agencies.

The program has the following companies still listed on Google’s website:

The following companies are Google AdWords Authorized Resellers:

15miles/ TMP Directional Marketing
ACB
ADP Dealer Services
AdReady
AT&T
Atlanta Journal Constitution
Citysearch
Clickable
Cobalt
Comcast
Dealer.com
FTD
Hearst Newspaper
JG Sullivan
Local Insight Media
Market Leader
Marquette Group
Network Solutions
OrangeSoda
Pica9
ReachLocal
RH Donnelley
SuperMedia
TopSpot Internet Marketing
TravelCLICK
Viamedia
Web.com
Yellow Pages Group (Canada)
Yellowbook
Yodle

The program was designed to allow these companies to provide pay per click management services local SMBs. Companies who in the program must maintain a client base of over 500 clients and get free API access.

Potential concerns by some advertisers with large scale ppc service providers are:

  • Horrible ROI for the SMB’s due to the high % click markups by the Authorized Resellers on Clicks that are already markedup by Google’s “silent auction”
  • lack of transparency to the SMB’s.
  • Even Google’s reseller website all include 45% margins (see http://www.google.com/adwordsresellerinfo/business.html)

Most smaller PPC agencies markup clicks only 15-20%. Some agencies like SMB SEO even allow the client to purchase the campaign and build the campaign on the clients Google AdWords Account. So as they invest in the campaign monthly, they also own all the optimization improvements, history, and detail.

This change will likely force resellers to build a service oriented business model, which is nothing like yellow pages advertising and sales business practices, vs the huge markups necessary to pay sales reps, executives, shareholders, and hungry venture capital and hedgefund investors looking for big dividends and everyone else who doesn’t “service” or manage your account. Atleast ReachLocal has tools, trained sales reps, and client retention for “sales reps” vs the new rep every year business approach of yellow pages companies. Does all this lead to less focus on service, pay per click advertising scams, and a negative reputation for the providers or resellers?

So….. Take a look at the above results. What do you think is going on?

Time to whip out some real SEO keyword tools and see how much keyword query traffic the negative reputation has! Need to put in keywords like ReachLocal Sucks, SuperMedia Sucks, and AdzZoo Sucks or ReachLocal Scams, SuperMedia Scams, or AdzZoo Scams. Of course only 2% of people speak positive and almost 25% of those with a negative experience will comment. By the way… did I mention that I we know a thing or two about Online Reputation Management? I have some great tips to share local internet marketers on my DallasGoogleGuru.com Blog about companies who mark up clicks on Google vs providing a service!

Services

Local SEO Services by SMB SEO prices, fees, and costs for Dallas Local SEO service.

Price of Local Search Engine Marketing SEO in Dallas for Small Businesses

Budgeting for local search engine marketing can be a challenging task. To most small business owners, understanding the costs and prices for internet marketing is not something that is shared or transparent. Most traditional internet advertising agencies tightly hold rate cards for Local SEO from businesses. Prices are not broken up by services provided. We have taken the confusion out of pricing local seo.

SMB SEO offers the following local search engine optimization services in our monthly search marketing retainer depending on our client’s individual needs and local search internet marketing challenges. No cookie cutter product solution. We specialize in a holistic search engine marketing approach. At smbSEO we believe that search is a verb, an action. It takes this fundamental holistic approach with many actions to rank at the top of search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, and Ask.com.

We also help our clients rank high on sites like YouTube and Yelp.com. We offer reputation management (a fancy word for Reputation-Based SEO) and paid search engine marketing, which is also known as pay-per-click marketing.

What makes smbSEO different from most traditional Dallas internet marketing firms is our transparent pricing and simplified fee approach. We offer an affordable monthly retainer that has no contract term length (such as a yellow pages publisher that requires you to pay for the advertisement for 12 months.)

Here’s our local search engine marketing rates:

SMB SEO Pricing Details:

-Local Directory/Map Listing Insertion: $499.00 for 21 local search sites (help with Google Maps ranking)

Local listing optimization is the process of optimizing local listing profiles on sites such as Google Places (Google Maps), Bing Maps, Yahoo Maps, and other important local search directories. This process combined with the proper citation (ratings and reviews) influence and further optimization of these profiles helps ensure that your small business ranks under local search results (such as:  Lewisville Tx Family Lawyer, Pet Waste Removal Dallas, or Bail Bonds Dallas. )

See our local listing optimization service page for more information, just click here.

(can be included in retainer)

-Website in WordPress or Joomla CMS: $1500.00 to $3000.00+ (basic website, extensive detailed graphics extra)
(normally not included in retainer unless stated otherwise)

WordPress and Joomla are the top 2 website content management systems on the planet. A couple of advantages of an open source content management system include the large community of contributors (plug-ins, extentions, and overall number of developers on the platform,) ability to evolve (the internet changes everyday,) and the fact that being locked in to a proprietary content management system by a single website development or website hosting provider is the old way of building a website.

-Video Production: $1000.00+ (filmed the last 2 weeks of the month, 5 day turn-around)
(normally not included in retainer unless stated otherwise)

We  work with graduates or students with the Dallas Art Institute who are well versed in Video Production. Our Dallas Video Production services are affordable to small businesses. We also optimize videos for YouTube, Hulu, and MetaCafe video distribution and high rankings. Our videos also show up in Google search engine results pages for common local queries that your customers search for everyday.

-Article Writing: $45/400 word or $60/800 word article
(included in retainer up to 5 articles per month)

We provide expert search engine optimized copy by experienced local SEO copywriters. Sites that do not have a scheduled, effective, frequent content strategy do not rank as well. Content is the key to building the online authority your site needs to rank high on search engines. SEO Copywriting is a skill that many bloggers are not familiar with. You have to focus on blogging and content. But in reality your content or blogging strategy must be monetized. SMB SEO takes SEO Copywriting to a different level with content distribution services via social media, article, press release, and search engine distribution methods.

Our Press Release writing services are separate. Slightly higher cost per word than traditional copy writing, but not as expensive as most advertising agencies.

-On-Page SEO: $100/hr
(included in retainer)

-Link Building: $100/hr
(included in retainer)

-Video Search Engine Optimization: $100.00
(included in retainer)

YouTube video search engine optimization (VSEO) is about helping your videos rank at the top of search engine results and Video distribution channels like YouTube.com, which is the most popular video destination on the internet.

-Advanced Call Metrics: $100/url/month and 12 cents per minute (includes call tracking, recording, routing, voicemail, web chat etc)
(not included in retainer)

-Ghost Blogging: $60.00/ post
(included in retainer)

-Logo Design: $500.00 (includes more than 20 different design choices)
(normally not included in retainer unless stated otherwise)

Logos……. but with options!

-Pay Per Click Campaign Build-Out: $100.00/hr (includes AdWords, MSN AdCenter, and Yahoo Search Marketing accounts)
(normally not included in retainer unless stated otherwise)

-Pay Per Click Management: $299.00/month
(included in retainer)
